  free\, two-day event.\n\nThe 45th Annual Alexandria Jazz Fest will open 
 the weekend festivities at Waterfront Park on Friday\, June 16\, from 6 t
 o 9 p.m. with three renowned performance groups accented by readings from
  some of Alexandria's poets between sets and a live mural painting throug
 hout the evening.\n\nThe free\, two-day Portside in Old Town Festival con
 tinues Saturday\, June 17\, from 1 to 9 p.m. with an array of live music\
 , local craft beer from Port City Brewing Company and fun for the whole f
