 are invited to the second annual Alexandria Shelter Walk for Homeless Ani
 mals. This is the only walk to benefit Alexandria's homeless animals and 
 the Vola Lawson Animal Shelter--an open-admission facility and Alexandria
 's only animal shelter. The 1.5-mile walk through Old Town helps raise aw
 areness about pet overpopulation in Alexandria and throughout the region\
 , while generating critical funds to support the thousands of homeless an
 imals cared for by the League each year. Some animals have been abused or
  neglected and some are simply unwanted\, but all deserve a second chance
  in a permanent\, loving home. Your support helps us place these wonderfu
