 t Connecticut Heavy Artillery\, a Union Army regiment stationed at Fort Wa
 rd\, will interpret the life of typical artillerymen assigned to forts in 
 the Washington area.  Experience cannon firing demonstrations in the recon
 structed Northwest Bastion of the fort\, equipment displays\, and camp lif
 e scenarios.   Visitors can also explore the Museum exhibit "The Art of th
 e Artillerymen in the Defenses of Washington\," which features a variety o
 f original equipment and personal items related to Civil War artillerists.
