This was used to document the c atches of fishers and would act like a trophy to hang on their wall.\n\nFo r this workshop\, we will raid your household for materials to create prin ts with instead of using a fish. Each object creates a unique imprint that can also be stamped into patterns on paper or fabric. A print can be a do cument of your daily life right now\, from a leaf you found on a walk to u sed food packaging from a quarantine recipe\, or other items around the ho use. You can even use a fresh fish\, if you have one! \n\nUse this new ski ll to create notecards\, embellish curtains and table cloths\, or hang you r print on the wall. Better still\, we'll build community while learning a nd making together. \n\nSpace is limited to 20 households in the City of A lexandria. Registered participants will be provided with an art kit that i ncludes some of the supplies needed to participate. One kit per household. \n\nRegistered participants will receive the participation link 24 hours p rior to the event. To join the online program\, participants will need acc ess to the internet and the ability to listen and talk with the artist (ca mera and microphone) with their computer\, tablet\, or phone.\n\nThis virt ual workshop is part of RENEWAL\, a series of community projects and progr ams that Sto Len has developed as the City of Alexandria Public Art Progra m's first artist in residence at AlexRenew.\n\nRENEWAL aims to renew our r elationship to local water by providing an opportunity for the public to e ngage with waterfront sites in new ways that both raise awareness and enga gement around the city's water\, especially areas connected to the future location of AlexRenew's RiverRenew tunnel project.\n\nFor more information about Sto Len and RENEWAL visit www.alexandriava.gov/publicart.\n\nLocati on: Virtual Only\nContact Person: Jennifer Zettl\nContact Phone: 703.746. 5382\nContact Email: arts@alexandriava.gov\nAudience: Anyone may attend\nT ags: Arts\, Class\, Eco-City\, Environment\, Family\, Nature\, Public Art & Memorials\, Recycling \, Summer Fun for Kids\, Teens\, Visual Arts\n\nIm port this event into your calendar: http://apps.alexandriava.gov/Calendar/ iCal.aspx?id=1&si=32050\n\nWeb resources:\n\nRegister Now\nhttps://www.eve ntbrite.com/e/gyotaku-printmaking-with-recycled-home-materials-with-artist -sto-len-tickets-108113167394\nRegister for Gyotaku Printmaking with Recyc led Home Materials\n DTEND:20200627T200000Z DTSTAMP:20200625T211249Z DTSTART:20200627T190000Z LOCATION: Virtual Only SEQUENCE:6 STATUS:CONFIRMED SUMMARY:VIRTUAL: Gyotaku Printmaking with Recycled Home Materials TRANSP:OPAQUE UID:54bcec3f-1f1a-4d2d-9b5c-752d9c43f94e URL:https://www.eventbrite.com/e/gyotaku-printmaking-with-recycled-home-mat erials-with-artist-sto-len-tickets-108113167394 X-COA-DTSTAMP:20200625T211249Z END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
