 es takes issue with the traditional image of George Washington as a selfle
 ss leader. Rather\, his portrait of George Washington reveals a more compl
 icated - and interesting - man who was both self-effacing and wildly ambit
 ious\, with a desire for public adulation that he never acknowledged\, per
 haps even to himself. Dr. Henriques\, Professor Emeritus of History from G
 eorge Mason University\, will be available to sign his newest book\, First
  and Always: A New Portrait of George Washington. The evening's lecture wa
 s inspired by one of its chapters.  \n\nDoors open at the Lyceum at 7p\, l
 ecture and streaming will begin at 7:30p. Masks are required for in-person
