 evention Week\, explore Alexandria's firefighting history on the "Blazing 
 a Trail:  Alexandria's Firefighting History" walking tour.  Participants l
 earn about volunteer firefighting in early Alexandria\, including the five
  volunteer fire companies\, three major fires\, and how firefighting was a
 ffected by the Civil War.  The tour begins at the historic Friendship Fire
 house\, goes east on Prince Street\, and returns to Friendship via King St
 reet. Advance reservations are required\, as space is limited. Tickets are
  $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for youth ages 10 to 17.  (The tour will not i
 nterest small children but may be of interest to kids 10 and older.)  \n\n
