  Apothecary Museum will offer special tours\, The Apothecary and the Civil
  War\, every Sunday at 12:30 p.m. starting June 5 through Labor Day weeken
 d.  This approximately 30 minute tour will feature themes similar to PBS's
  Mercy Street.  Topics include abolitionism in the Quaker community\, pres
 criptions from the Civil War era\, and the Leadbeater family during the wa
 r.  Special archival materials will be showcased during the tour and perio
 d ingredients covered in detail.   \nThe Apothecary is located at 105-107 
 S. Fairfax Street.  Tickets available online at http://shop.alexandriava.g
 ov or by calling 703.746.3852.  Cost is $6 per person and tickets are limi
 ted\; tickets sold at the door as available.  Doors open at 12:15 and will
  lock once tour begins at 12:30.  \nThe Stabler-Leadbeater Apothecary Muse
 um in Old Town Alexandria is noted for its outstanding collection of medic
 inal herbs\, shop furnishings\, and apothecary bottles and equipment. It a
 lso has a spectacular collection of archival materials\, including journal

  led by Junior Docents grades 4-7 offered every Sunday until Labor Day Wee
 kend from 2-5pm at Gadsby's Tavern Museum.  Thanks to stationed guides\, f
 amilies will be able to start a tour as soon as they arrive and move throu
 gh the museum at their own pace\, and children will be able to connect wit
 h the museum through their peer tour guides. Tour ends with activities in 
 the ballroom that explore the science behind the historic ice well\, inclu
 ding making (and tasting) ice cream!  \n\nFamily tours begin June 26 and e
