He and the students working with him gathered doz ens of photographs and bits of information about many Alexandria buildings which had been demolished over time\, and his intent was to include this material in his landmark book Capital Losses: A Cultural History of Washin gton's Destroyed Buildings (1979). While the section on Alexandria eventu ally had to be cut\, Dr. Goode saved his collection of prints and notes an d donated them to the City of Alexandria.
