One was a former Vice President of the US who became a Confederate General\; a nother was a failure as a Union general but had a local university named a fter him. Another was chief of Confederate secret operations in Washington \, and another allowed his men to collect scalps after a battle. One was a scout for the famous Gray Ghost of the Confederacy\, and another was the grandson of a man who rode with Paul Revere on his famous Midnight Ride. W e will look at some of the streets.\nMr. Kim Holien has been a resident of the West End of Alexandria since March of 1954. His 41 years in Federal Service included 35 years as a professional US Army historian. One of his three specialized areas was the Civil War\, in which he had ancestors on b oth sides.
