In addit ion\, there will be a reading of a "Proclamation" from the Mayor\, which r ecognizes April 7\, 2015 as the 151st anniversary of the emancipation of s laves in Alexandria. The lecture will show the importance of maintaining h istorical events in context.\n\nLecturer Char McCargo Bah is the CEO/Owner of FindingThingsforU\, LLC. A genealogist since 1981\, she is sought afte r for her expertise\, having been interviewed for numerous television show s and documentaries\, including those produced for CBS\, FOX-5\, Comcast\, and PBS. She has also received numerous awards for her work and was named a Living Legend in Alexandria\, Virginia in 2014. McCargo Bah served as t he official genealogist for the Office of Historic Alexandria's work in id entifying descendants of those buried at the city's Contrabands and Freedm en Cemetery.
