 Ms. Hollan  researches\, writes\, and lectures on American silver. She is 
 president of the American Silver Guild\, a special interest group that mee
 ts in the Northern Virginia area. She established a bi-annual southern sil
 ver seminar at the Museum of Early Southern Decorative Arts in Winston-Sal
 em\, NC. She curated the Alexandria silver exhibition at The Lyceum and pu
 blished a catalogue still available there. Her monumental Virginia Silvers
 miths: Their Lives and Marks 1607-1860 established Virginia's active busin
 ess and artisan history in the greater picture of American silversmithing.
   Her most recent book is Philadelphia Silversmiths and Related Artisans t
 o 1861. A resident of Alexandria for over thirty years\, she now lives in
