    The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning for the Alexandria area for Thursday, March 5, 2015, from midnight to 9 p.m. A snow emergency has been declared for the City of Alexandria, with enforcement of snow emergency routes to begin at 7 a.m. on Thursday, March 5. City offices and facilities will be closed on Thursday, March 5.  Emergency personnel should report as scheduled. Significant accumulation of ice and snow is expected, which means that travel could be dangerous and some residential roads may not be clear until later in the week. Because the storm is expected to begin with rain, pre-treating streets with salt brine will not be effective. This type of precipitation often results in power outages.

    The Sister Cities conference rooms are on the first floor of City Hall, just off the Vola Lawson Lobby on the north side of City Hall (Cameron St).
    Event Details:Scheduled Environmental Policy Commission Work Session and Public Hearing on Stormwater Public Education & Outreach Program. The City invites the public to provide input regarding the City's Stormwater Public Education and Outreach Program. This meeting will focus on water quality pollutants, outreach, and identification of appropriate target audiences for the City's outreach efforts. The City's Municipal Separate Stormwater System (MS4) Permit requires resident input in developing a comprehensive plan, feedback and input received at this meeting will be used to develop updates to the Stormwater Public Education and Outreach Plan.
