    Event Details:When General Washington resigned his commission at the end of the War for Independence, he expected that his life on the public stage was over. Growing crises facing the new nation forced the General to reconsider. Dr. Peter Henriques will trace Washington's complicated and not always consistent path from retirement to the Constitutional Convention to his inauguration as the new nation's first chief executive.
