|Event Details:||The Point-In-Time (PIT) Count is an annual nationwide count conducted each year to identify the number of adults and families experiencing homelessness within a particular jurisdiction. The purpose of the count is to assist in developing services and resources to assist the homeless population and to ultimately end homelessness. DCHS Staff, City Police, City Fire/EMS and other community volunteers will work collaboratively to outreach the homeless population within the city. The goal will be to engage, provide information about services and gather needed data. Outreach volunteers and donations are needed! If you are interested in volunteering and/or donating items for this outreach effort to be distributed to those experiencing homelessness; the following items would be greatly appreciated: gently used sleeping bags, blankets, coats, hats, gloves and/or new socks.
