Event Details:This presentation is an unflinching look at one of this country's most controversial words. Heavily illustrated with rare articles and images, it is a voyage through some of this nation's most violent and bloody eras. Mr. Gibbs will also look at the beginnings and continued persistence of blackface. His lecture is both extremely timely and profoundly thought provoking.
C.R. Gibbs is the author/co-author of six books and a respected lecturer on a variety of historical topics. Mr. Gibbs has worked with Smithsonian Institution museums and is a D.C. Humanities Council scholar.
