Event Details:The National Capital Puppetry Guild in collaboration with the Office of the Arts will present the 2nd Annual “Celebrate the World Day of Puppetry” on Saturday, March 24, 2018, from 10 a.m. - 3 p.m., Doors open at 9:00 a.m., Durant Arts Center, 1605 Cameron St., Alexandria, VA.

The World Day of Puppetry will offer family-oriented puppet performances, hands-on workshops, exhibits and sales tables. Seven puppetry performances will feature Bob Brown Puppets, Dinorock, Beech Tree Puppets, Blue Sky Puppet Theater, and more!

Puppet shows at 10 a.m., 10:45 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:15 p.m., 1 p.m., 1:45 p.m., and 2:30 p.m.

Other activities include hands-on puppet-making workshops for families. Reservations are required. Children must be accompanied by at least one adult.

Workshop #1 – Sock Puppets, 10 a.m. – 2 p.m., Ages 1 - 6 years old. Socks provided. One sock per paid participant, $5 per person. (355211-04)

Workshop #2 – Basic TV Style Puppet Construction, 1:45 – 2:30 p.m., Ages 10 years to Adult. One puppet per paid participant, $10 per person. (355211-05)

Workshop #3 – Puppet Making for Young Children, 12:15 p.m.-1 p.m. Ages 5 - 8 years old. One puppet per paid participant, $5 per person. (355211-06)
