Event Details:Catholic University Professor Jennifer Paxton, PhD to lecture at The Lyceum, 201 South Washington Street, on Thursday, March 8, 2018.

From the time of Sir William Wallace (of "Braveheart" fame) through the troubled reign of Mary Queen of Scots, France and Scotland joined forces against England, but then the fall of the Stuart dynasty in 1688 led France to support a Jacobite restoration under Bonnie Prince Charlie. Explore the twists and turns of this intriguing relationship, in which three countries engaged in a complicated diplomatic and military rivalry that shaped the history of Europe.
