Event Details:Join a panel of experts as they discuss questions related to cultural significance. Topics to include the various approaches communities choose to preserve and protect and the reasons communities sometimes choose to forget these resource types. Consider local, national and international examples of how cultural significance is defined and how it affects historic and cultural preservation. Audrey Davis, Director of the Alexandria Black History Museum, Molly Fannon, Director, Office of International Relations and Programs, Smithsonian Institution, and John H. Sprinkle, Jr., Acting Chief Historian, National Park Service, will participate in this panel discussion.
